Dresses to Wear to a Wedding
So you are going to be attending a marriage soon and you have no idea what to wear. When

choosing a dress to wear to some wedding there are some basic stuff you will want to keep

in your mind.

First of all what type of a wedding will it be? Formal, informal, semi-formal, black

tie, or perhaps a specially themed wedding? This will heavily influence the kind of

dress you choose. You don’t wish to stand out like a sore thumb because everybody but

you probably did the research.

A very popular kind of wedding these days is really a beach wedding. This requires a unique

type of attire. It’s outdoors so you will need to consider the aspects of the weather

eg wind and sun. If it is windy can your dress cope? Or are you

constantly battling with your dress and the wind. A dress that is better fitted and not

too long so it doesn’t drag within the sand would be the most suitable. If you have sensitive

skin you may need something that covers more skin than you always like too or perhaps be sure

to bring and use plenty of sunscreen. Then of course there’s the issue of footwear.

You may prefer to go barefoot during the sand and wear those gorgeous heels when off

the sand. Or, you might choose to wear some fancy sandals or sandals instead.

Second, what time of year is the wedding being held? Summer, Spring, Fall or Winter? The

season will even influence the dress choice you are making. Nice light breathable dresses

that expose more skin for the hotter months and thicker heavier dresses for that colder

months. Most weddings may have at least some time spent outside for photos etc so one

needs to prepare for these areas of the wedding day.

You will also need to consider the body type when choosing the cut of the dress. Only

guess what happens dress looks best in your body type so be sure to try a few different

outfits on as well as get some honest opinions from friends regarding how it looks on you.

If you want to look slimmer then made a decision to wear a dress that has vertical lines.

Conversely if you want to make your figure look fuller eg your bust, then horizontal

lines in those areas can create the illusion of fullness.

You may consider co-ordinating the color of the dress with the colors of the wedding.

Find out what the bridesmaids will be wearing and you could consider something which

complements them. Obviously you don’t want to wear something that’s too similar

because you are the guest and it would be embarrassing if someone mistook you for a

member of the bridal party.

Jewellery can also be another nice accessory to the wedding guest outfit. Try on different

earrings and necklaces when attemping out that dress. Even inexpensive jewellery can add something special any wedding guest attire.
